An introduction from our Head Teacher

My name is Natalie Sharpe, and I am proud to be the Head Teacher and Director of Uneek Primary Upper. I am joined by Stacey Ward, our Assistant Head Teacher, and together with our dedicated team, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every child is valued for who they are.

At Uneek, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, understood and supported. We recognise that every child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, interests and ways of learning. For some children, a traditional school environment has not always worked for them, and we are passionate about providing a different approach.

Years 5 and 6 are an important time in a child’s education. As children grow, they begin to develop greater independence, confidence and awareness of the world around them. At Uneek Primary Upper, we are committed to supporting each child through this important stage of their journey and helping them prepare for their transition to secondary education.

Our aim is to create a nurturing, calm and supportive environment where children can build trusting relationships, develop confidence and build a positive connection with learning.

We understand that education is about so much more than academic achievement. At Uneek Primary Upper, we support the whole child. Alongside learning, we focus on emotional wellbeing, communication, social development, resilience, independence and the skills children need to thrive both now and in the future.

Our small and dedicated team takes the time to get to know every child as an individual. We work closely with families and other professionals to ensure that the support we provide is personalised and meaningful. We want every child who joins us to know that they belong here and that they are accepted for exactly who they are.

As our pupils move through Years 5 and 6, we support them to become increasingly confident and independent learners. We also understand that the transition to secondary school can be an exciting but sometimes challenging time. We work closely with pupils and families to help ensure they feel prepared, supported and confident about taking their next steps.

We are incredibly proud of the environment we are creating at Uneek Primary Upper and the difference our team makes to the lives of the children and families we support. We are committed to helping every child make positive progress, whether academically, socially, emotionally or personally, and celebrating every achievement along the way.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope it gives you a sense of who we are, what we believe in and the caring community we are building at Uneek Primary Upper.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
